The translation of medical and pharmaceutical texts very often requires technical and scientific knowledge. It is not always sufficient to have a degree and expertise in medicine; translators in this field are also expected to have a keen interest in electronics or mechanics.
This applies, for instance, to the translation of user and maintenance manuals for surgical instruments and equipment. We regularly translate medical articles, medical records and hospital records as well as research reports, medicine descriptions, etc.
For these projects we always use translation memory programmes in order to ensure consistency in terms of language usage and terminology. This is essential in the case of large volumes and projects involving several translators.
