Customer | German translation agency |
CAT tool | MemoQ |
Project type | Translation of the manuals of water treatment equipment |
Source language | German |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 100 000 words |
Details | We had about two weeks to translate the approximately 100 000-word material of the Swiss company from German into Hungarian. Originally, our customer intended to involve two translators and a proof-reader in the work, but the size of the project and the deadline did not make this possible. As a solution, we recommended the use of the MemoQ programme. It was a further difficulty that the Multiterm terminological database supplied by the end-user contained wrong expressions, which our senior translator had to correct first, and only after the approval of company's proof-reader could we start the translation work. After the translation had been completed, we did the checking in Trados. The client was highly satisfied with the quick delivery and the quality of the translation. Owing to our suggestions we were eventually able to meet the extremely short deadline and deliver the material in a much higher quality than expected. |

CAT tool | Across |
Project type | Translation of the users' manuals of oil and gas boilers for industrial facilities / condominiums / households |
Source language | German |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 5-35 000 word / project |
Details | The translation of the materials of the company group was done in Across. Due to a sudden increase in the amount of materials to be translated, we started the project by training new translators for Across. The senior translator we appointed was ready to help the newly involved translators, continuously monitored their work and provided them with professional and technical assistance. We could meet the quality requirements by involving a senior translator and submitting the material to the customer for review, who checked the delivered translation against strict criteria and returned it to us for final correction and modification. With the help of the quality assurance system developed jointly with the client, we could easily handle the increased quantity in a way that we still managed to meet the high quality standards as set out at the start of the project. |

Client | Tetra Pak – a market leader in packaging technologies |
CAT tool | MemoQ |
Project type | Translation of the manuals of packaging technologies |
Source language | English |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 15 000 – 100 000 words / project |
Details | Our cooperation began in 2007 with the translation of materials of 5000-25 000 words. After we had successfully completed the first assignments, in December 2007 we received the first major job, a 100 000-word material, which we translated with the involvement of 5 translators because of the scarcity of time. To ensure consistency, we did the translation in MemoQ, exported the ready files, and the proof-reading was done by one translator in Trados. As a result of our innovative recommendations and our rigorous quality assurance system, the translators were able to proceed with the work faster than required, so we could deliver the material before the final deadline. |

CAT tool | Trados |
Project type | Translation of the manuals of paper production lines |
Source language | German |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 1 000 – 15 000 words / project |
Details | The materials of this company are always translated by the same person. Obviously, the proof-reading is done by 'another' translator, or if he/she is busy translating, we ask a third translator to check the work. The quality of the projects is assured by the online glossary available at the client's website. At the beginning of May 2008 a new series of projects was launched, in the framework of which we translated some 150 000 words. Thanks to our working methodology our client has always received high-quality translations with a consistent terminology. |

Project size | 330 000 words (15 000 - 130 000 words / project) |
Details | The Swiss company ordered the translation of several texts of a total of some 330 000 words from German to Hungarian within a deadline that could be optimally met by a translator - target language reviser pair working on each assignment. At the beginning of the project we compiled a glossary using the technical terms provided by the Client, which we can also use in future translations to ensure consistency. We revised the completed material in a multi-level quality control process. |
Language | technical - iron fittings for furniture |
Customer | Austrian translation company |
Client | Schachermayer |
CAT tool | Trados |
Project type | furniture fittings |
Source language | German |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 150 000 words |
Details | About three weeks were provided for the translation of the Austrian Schachermayer company's document consisting of approx. 150,000 words from German into Hungarian. The dimensions and the deadline of the project required the employment of several (5) translators. As to the persons in charge of checking in the target language, one was a translator while the other one was engaged in checking in the target language only. The translation was made by the help of Trados (Tag Editor). The translators had access to a translation memory, a terminological database as well as PDF reference files. When problems arose (translation of terms not figuring in either the memory or the terminology or terms having two meanings), the questions were forwarded to the Hungarian representation of Schachermayer, which furnished us with quick answers. The glossary and the Multiterm terminological database were amended accordingly and sent to all the translators. Since the translators worked from more than one database, the translation had inconsistencies identified by XBench - related terms were later unified. We were able to keep the delivery deadline. |
Language | Financial funds |
Customer | Austrian translation company |
Client | Erste Sparinvest |
CAT tool | MemoQ |
Project type | Finances |
Source language | German |
Target language | Hungarian |
Project size | 270 000 words |
Details | Our duty was to translate the descriptions of various financial funds from German into Hungarian in a total volume of 270,000 words for the Austrian Erste Bank (INDD and Word files). The project lasted five months and three translators including the reviser of the whole document were engaged in it. The translation was made in MemoQ and the translators used a common online translation memory and a terminological database compiled continuously in the course of the project. Questions (abbreviations, terminology) put in the course of the work were replied by the principal soon. Quality (spelling and consistency) was checked through the QA module that is a part of MemoQ. The principal was fully satisfied with the quality of the translation. |
